Grilled Caesar Salad with a Nutritional Yeast Sour Cream

Quick switch up from the regular Caesar Salad with a Nutritional Yeast Sour Cream ready in 15 minutes.  This recipe is heart healthy with the avocado and olive oil and the nutritional yeast that’s a complete protein.  Simple, easy and yummy.

Grilled lettuce tastes incredible and with this creamy, cheesy dressing it tastes even better.  Apart from the heart healthy omega 3s from the avocado and olive oil, nutritional yeast has tonnes of benefits too.  It’s a complete protein so helps you maintain muscle mass, it’s got incredible flavour and doesn’t have msg, it’s great for producing red blood cells since its packed with vitamin b12 and has plenty of glutathione, an antioxidant that protects our bodies from cell damage and helps eliminate toxins from our body.

Here’s what you’ll need

Serves: 2 | Prep: 5 mins | Cooking: 10 minutes

Ingredients

4 - 6 little gem / romaine lettuce bulbs, sliced in half

1 teaspoon olive oil

1 cup sour cream

2 tablespoons avocado oil

2 tablespoons nutritional yeast

1 teaspoon mustard

Step One: Heat the olive oil in a medium skillet over a medium heat and add the lettuce, cut side down and cook till browned. .

Step Two: Mix remaining ingredients together till smooth and fluffy. To serve, dress salad with dressing, sprinkle parmesan if you like or nutritional yeast and enjoy!
